Testing Picard on OS X (Intel)

If you have an intel Mac and would like to try out the first test of a PUID enabled Picard on OS X, please download this DMG and post a comment to let me know if it works.

This DMG:

  • Is for INTEL only
  • Only runs on OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
  • Probably does not have working CD Lookup
  • Might be buggy
  • Is based on the 0.9.0 Picard tarball
  • Is NOT a Universal Binary

If this DMG works for people then I will proceed to try to get 10.4/PPC/disc lookup support working.

Have you already fixed the DMG? I downloaded it 15 minutes ago and Picard is running beautifully (with a stylish new icon, no less!).

PUID generation is working and I can confirm that it is generating some existing PUIDs which is a good sign.

    Woohoo! Thanks!

Also it won’t submit puid’s to the server, give’s the error won’t authencitate.

If you want i can mail you my console log from running picard when checking 3 cd’s?

  4. cooperaa says:

Reinout: Try re-entering your credentials in Picard. These got rid for the authentication problem for me.

  5. Aeon says:

The tagging etc. works as in previous version, but I don’t see it generating PUID’s. Is there anything I need to do to enable that?

  6. cooperaa says:

Click an unmatched file (in the left panel) and then click “))) Scan”.

Or, go to Options and check “Automatically scan all new files”.

libffmpeg refuses to build on pcc for me right now. I’m waiting for an upstream bug to be fixed before I can proceed. :-( Maybe next weekend.

  23. Jon Hermansen says:

I have written a HOWTO for installing all necessary dependencies for PicardQt, and getting it up, running, and fingerprinting files. I’ve confirmed that it works on PPC Leopard… here’s a link:
